70/Sunny! Golf weather in SC!

Will is in South Carolina right now. He flew out on Friday to go to a couple of school district job fairs and a scheduled preliminary interview. He's finishing his post-master's administrative endorsement, which means he's in the process of moving from school counselor to school administrator. I'm really proud of how hard he's been working. He never complains and has never been afraid of hard work. Before he left we went to Mr. Mac and bought him his first "real" suit. He has another one but it looks like something the New Kids on the Block wore to the Grammy's in 1988. It's really that bad and not something I would ever let him wear in public. In fact, where is that suit? It's totally going to DI tomorrow.

Anyway, so he left to SC in his first suit on Friday and had his interviews yesterday. He called me afterwards to inform me that at the first school district he visited, the superintendent was LDS! What a coincidence! Needless to say, Will instantly had a connection with this superintendent and got the attention of a few of the administrators that were there just because he was chumming it up with the superintendent. Great job rubbing elbows, sweetheart!

At the next school district, where his interview was, he says that he was fully prepared and really aced his interview. The lady who interviewed him already mentioned a second interview!

So, nothing set in stone yet but things are looking good for a summer move cross-country. I'm already thinking of all the things we need to do to prepare the house to sell. (Getting ahead of myself a little here but I'm just so excited!) Just think, I could be playing tennis and golf year round! And not too mention the road races! Take me home, country roads!

2008 is gonna be great!

Inspired in part by Connie's New Year blog- I've decided to write down some goals for 2008. At church last Sunday, someone said that, "A goal not written down is only a good idea." So I want to make sure that these good ideas get put into action!

*Read the Book of Mormon in it's entirety.

*Start attending the temple regularly.

*Spend at least 20 min. each day helping Coleman with his reading.

*Spend at least 20 min. each day helping Cooper with his speech.

*Begin competing in local tennis tournaments.

*Beat my best time in a 5k. Right now my best is 25:47.

*Finally get that last pesky 10 lbs off and keep it off.

*Go on a date with my husband at least once a month.

I'm sure there are many more things that I can work on but that's good for now.

Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley 1910-2008

The president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints died this evening and I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for his life of service. What a great example he was to so many people of love, selflessness, righteousness and faith. I really loved to listen to him speak. Just like most everyone else, it is sometimes hard for me to stay awake during Conference but I always perked up whenever he began to speak. He was always so upbeat and happy (and funny!) He will be missed by many. I'm so thankful for his legacy and all that he left behind. He will live on in so many stories he told, books he wrote and inspirational quotations that will be recalled Sunday after Sunday in ward buildings all over the world. Thank you, Pres. Hinckley. I know you are happy to be with your sweet wife once again.

A December recap.

December was such a busy month for us! I can't believe I haven't blogged since the very beginning of last month! (Ok, that's a lie. I'm not shocked that I haven't blogged since then because for some reason my posts have become few and far between.) Anyhow, how about a recap?!

Let's see, Cooper can say, "Ho Ho Ho!" which is really quite cute. Half the time it comes out sounding more like "Oh Oh Oh!" which makes it even cuter! Coleman had a great month of fun between parties and his very first Christmas program. He really tried hard to learn the songs and did a great job holding up his candlestick, although not exactly when he was supposed to. Will got to relax and take a couple of weeks off of work but I've decided that he really needs a hobby after seeing last month's cell phone bill ($265, yikes!) That's a lot of money just to chat football with a buddy back home. Doesn't he have any local friends?! Oh, and I turned the big 3-0! And those that know me, know that I mention it all the time just to hear people tell me that I don't look 30. It's pitiful, really.

Here's just a couple pics from last month. I'll be better this month, I promise! (<---she says at nearly the end of the month! Geez!)
