I was rushing to get the boys out the door this morning to get to aerobics because I didn't wake up until almost 9:00. Aerobics was starting at 9:30 and I was finally leaving the house at 9:35. I open the door to the garage and the truck is gone! That wouldn't normally be a big deal except for the fact that Cooper's car seat was left in the truck last night, so I couldn't even use the other car. But I was determined to get to aerobics this morning, so I strapped both boys in the double jogger and walked. I was about 20 minutes late but at least I got there. Wouldn't you know that the one time I leave the car seat in the truck, Will takes the truck to work. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?
I've got a decision to make. I've got to decide if I'm going to go to the Stake Enrichment Activity tomorrow morning or to tennis lessons. (I never said it was an important decision!) Usually I go to tennis on Wed. night but because it was cancelled this week I could go tomorrow and make up for the one I missed. However, I signed up for the Stake Enrichment Activity a few weeks ago and I'm sure it would be a great way to spend a Saturday morning (even though I'd have to have a squirmy baby with me the whole 3-4 hours.) I just can't decide. Although, I have to say the more that I think about having Cooper with me the whole time tomorrow, the more I'm leaning towards tennis... :)
Coleman is going to a birthday party tomorrow afternoon. One of the little boys that lives down the street is turning 4. Coleman just loves birthday parties so it should be really fun for him. Last night, Coleman and I made little doggy and dogbone shaped sugar cookies. It was really fun to spend that mommy/son time together. He was so thrilled that I let him stir the dough and cut out the cookies himself. It's really great to see him so proud of himself. He loves being in the kitchen with Mommy!

Okay! This one's for you, Jen.
My neighbor, Jen, came over and saw that I had pulled up my blog and left it up and said, "Are you finally posting to your blog again?!" Sadly, I had to tell her no. So, I made a point to get on here and post something so she won't be disappointed next time she checks. She's my biggest fan. :) Ha ha!
Tennis was cancelled tonight because my instructor's in Vegas. Boo! I can't wait to get back on the court.
Our yard is starting to take shape and I'm super excited to start picking out plants and trees for the flower beds. It's been really fun planning it all out and watching it turn into something real. Tomorrow, I'm going to start calling around to get estimates for the curbing we are putting around the flower beds. I think that will be the perfect touch to making everything look nice and manicured. I'm not hating getting my hands dirty as much as I thought I would. It's actually kind of fun.
Oh, here's some big news. (Drumroll, please!) Coleman is actually potty trained! Wow, I've been waiting such a long time to say that. I even sent him to school in big boy undies today. No more Pull-ups! Whew, it's about time. I really was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen. I'm so relieved! I'm sure he'll still have his fair share of accidents but he is on his way.
Cooper seems to be moving into the "stranger anxiety" stage of babydom. Today, when my visiting teachers came he just took one look at them and started bawling. It's so strange to me because he just loves people so the stranger anxiety thing seems to really be working against his true self. However, he does get back to grinnin' pretty quickly. That's the Coops we all know!

I told him to wash his hands!
Will was up early this morning sick and throwing up. Poor guy. He's so polite, though. He always goes downstairs to hurl so as not to wake me up. However, I always wake up if he's not in bed with me. So, I called downstairs to see where he was at and he yelled back, "I'm not feeling so good. Go back to bed." He doesn't like being catered to when he's sick. I don't really get that. I'm such a baby when I'm sick. Anyhow, I keep telling him if he would just wash his hands more, he wouldn't get sick so much. (And stop eating undercooked foods and old leftovers.) He never listens! Oh well, guess I'll be following him around with the Lysol today.
Spring Break has been pretty fun for us so far. Yesterday, we went to see the Disney movie The Wild. Then we went to the library to get Coleman some books and to the park to let him play. We really enjoy our family time together. Last night, I went to my 3rd tennis lesson and I have to say I just love it! I forgot how much fun I have playing and I have to say that I'm learning so much more than I ever learned in high school. I feel like it's starting to come back to me a little.
Well, got to go take care of my 3 babies...

Some sad news.
This morning I talked to dad and he told me that my Uncle Rick died of a heart attack last night. It's very sad news but I believe he is happier now and free from the bonds he had in this life. I feel so awful for my Granny. I'm sure that she never wanted to have to bury one of her children. Ricky is her oldest and she must be having a tough time with this. When something like this happens it definitely does remind me of how uncertain life really is. We only get one body and it's so important to treat it well.

Happy Easter!
The Easter Bunny brought the boys all kinds of goodies in their Easter baskets this morning. I'm not sure why he brought Cooper all that chocolate since he's not quite old enough to enjoy it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to eat it (she says as she bites down on a Cadbury Creme Egg)! ;) When I was out shopping for the candy, at some level I knew that I had every intention of eating all the candy that I put in Cooper's basket. Now I know why my Easter baskets were always full of my mom's favorite candies! Ha Ha! It's great to be the mom! Coleman is really into the whole fantasy of the Easter Bunny this year. Saturday night, I turned off the light in the loft in preparation to go to bed and Coleman swiftly turned it back on wanting to play a little longer. I told him that we had to go to sleep so the Easter Bunny could come and he quickly turned the light back off and followed me to his room. He was actually anticipating the arrival of the Easter Bunny! Now that's a first! It was really cute.
This afternoon we went to June's house for Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt. It was really relaxed and fun. We were supposed to go to Chad's house after June's but he missed his flight in LA so we rescheduled for later in the week. Sounds like they had a good time at Disneyland, though. Well, better go. It's laundry day again!

Sometimes I'm so disorganized.
Ever have a holiday sneak up on you and feel totally unprepared. For me, that's Easter nearly every year! I'm not sure why but it always seems to sneak up on me and I'm always out trying to buy basket filling items at the last minute. It's the Friday before Easter and maybe to some people that means I'm right on schedule. But, if you know me well, you know that I like to have every egg filled and every well-thought-out gift ready to go at least a couple of weeks in advance. This year, I've managed to buy a Toy Story Memory game for Coleman's basket and that's it! So, tonight I'm on a mission. We are headed to the mall in Orem to pick up personalized peanut butter eggs for Coleman and Cooper at Kara Chocolate and then I think we will hit the dollar store and finish up our shopping. Hopefully, we'll find everything we need. Next year, I will be prepared! (Really!)

Busy day today.
I don't even have time to eat my normal bowl of oatmeal this morning, much less a long weekend report. Just thought I'd quickly tell about my 1st tennis lesson. It was so much fun even though I can really tell that I have a long way to go and a lot to learn. That's okay because everyone has to start somewhere! Watch out Wimbledon. Here I come! (I've just got to work on my backhand, forehand, volley, serves, grips, power and make sure I've got the rules down first!) Ha!

Another early morning.
I'm not sure what's going on but the past three days I've been waking up in the early morning with a headache and each morning I can't get back to sleep. This morning it was 5:30 and now I'm going to be exhasted at my first tennis lesson. Let's hope that I get a second wind at about 8:30!
It's been a good week here. There has been a lot going on. I had a book club meeting on Tuesday. We discussed last month's book, A Tale of Desperaux. It was an interesting book and it's always fun to get together with the other ladies in the club. Then on Thursday the Relief Society had our annual birthday dinner. A dance company came and put on a beautiful perfomance. I went thinking that it would be boring but it really was great! I heard a lot of sniffles in the crowd and I was definitely emotional. I'm thankful for having that time to be truly introspective. I think I get so caught up in life and all of the demands of day-to-day that it's hard for me to take myself out of it and remember who I am and what I'm truly here for. I was just reminded to be a little easier on myself. I do not need to be perfect and worry about appearances so much. Be yourself and believe in yourself. That was a really good reminder for me.
On a lighter note, I decide to try out an aerobics class that one of the ladies in the ward has been teaching. I was unsure about how good of a workout it would be but it was actually a great workout and I'm even a little sore today. We went from 9:30 to 11:00 and worked the whole time. Not bad. I think I'll start going more often. What's really nice about it, too, is that we can take our kids and they can play on one side of the gym while we use the other side. Coleman was a little grumpy because I woke him up early but he enjoyed playing with the other kids. And Cooper sat quietly on a blanket the whole time and just played with toys and watched everybody. I can tell that he can't wait to be running around with the other kids.
I'm headed to tennis now. I'm a little nervous that I'll be awful but if I were awesome at tennis I wouldn't need lessons, right!? :)

Holy Migraine Part II
Ugh! I've been up since 4 am with this annoying headache! I tried to lay back down and go to sleep around 5:30 but it seems to get worse when I lay down. So, I decided to go on an early morning grocery trip. It's kind of nice to go to the store when no one else is there. You don't have to fight anyone for the good deals. Anyhow, sounds like Cooper isn't going to let me stay on here too long. I'll try and post more later.

A Family Saturday.
Yesterday, we went to go see the early showing of Ice Age 2. It was a really cute and funny movie. I did have a couple issues with adult language that was used but thankfully Coleman is still too young to pick up on it. Anyway, that's a whole other post. Most importantly, Coleman really enjoyed it and even though Will fell asleep a few times during the movie I'm sure he loved it, too! ;) Ha ha! After the movie, we went to Kohl's and Old Navy to buy Will some khakis for work and another pair of jeans. It was just too much pressure on me to try to keep the 2 pairs of pants that he wears clean at all times. So, now he's got several pair to choose from. Phew! I have to say, though, it is just painful to shop with my husband! He hates shopping and wants to buy pretty much anything he tries on so that we can leave ASAP. So, I had to force him to try things on until I found the pants that look the best on him. He's so funny like that...
After shopping, we came home and I took off to the gym and grocery store and brought back a couple movies from Redbox. Will and I watched Walk the Line about Johnny Cash and June Carter. It was definitely interesting. Joaquin Phoenix did a tremendous job. Boy, I think that guy really has some experience being a drug addict. He was convincing! I got Spongebob Squarepants: Where's Gary? for Coleman to watch. He watched it upstairs in the loft while we watched our movie downstairs. He came downstairs after it was over and said, "That was fun!" So cute, that boy!

You're fired!
Last night, we caught up on all the Apprentice episodes that we had recorded. Will and I really love to watch reality TV together and The Apprentice is one of our favorites. I think it's because we are both Apprentice wanna-be's. :) This season has been great so far.
Anyway, today should be a busy day. We are taking Coleman and Cooper to see Ice Age 2 after Will gets back from playing basketball. And then we have to go buy Will some new pants. That man just wears out work pants! His khakis are just not wearable anymore, so he's been wearing his jeans an awful lot. (Even his jeans are down to one pair.) And I don't think there is anything he likes less than shopping for clothes but today he has no choice. I think that we may look for a carpet deep cleaner, too. Our carpet has stains everywhere and I don't want to have to pay a carpet cleaning company every 6 months when I can do it myself, you know?! Oh, the perils of having a 4-yr-old!
